Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of BudapestCars’s websites, applications, and related services (the “Platform”). By creating an account, posting content, purchasing subscriptions, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.

Important. BudapestCars provides a technology platform that may include marketplace listings, rental or service-related workflows, informational content, and tools for businesses and consumers. We are not a party to transactions between users unless expressly stated in a separate agreement.

1. The Platform

The Platform may include vehicle listings, dealer/workshop/service provider profiles, booking or service request features, events, guides, dashboards, subscriptions, messaging features, and other tools. Features may change over time. Some features may be limited by region, eligibility, verification status, or subscription plan.

2. Eligibility & accounts

  • You must provide accurate registration information and keep it updated.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for activity under your account.
  • We may require verification for certain actions (for example business accounts, high-risk activity, or compliance checks).
  • You must not share accounts in a way that circumvents security, billing, or eligibility rules.

3. User responsibilities

  • You will comply with applicable laws and regulations, including those related to vehicles, advertising, consumer protection, privacy, and taxation.
  • You will not misuse the Platform, attempt unauthorized access, scrape the Platform in violation of our rules, or interfere with other users.
  • You will not use the Platform to harass, discriminate, threaten, or harm others.

4. Listings & user-generated content

Users and businesses are responsible for the accuracy of listings, photos, pricing indications, availability statements, and descriptions. You represent that you have rights to post content you upload and that your content does not infringe third-party rights. We may remove or restrict content that violates these Terms, appears fraudulent, or creates safety or legal risk.

5. Prohibited content & conduct

Examples of prohibited uses include, without limitation:

  • False, misleading, or deceptive listings; stolen vehicles; or listings you are not authorized to sell or advertise.
  • Spam, malware, phishing, or attempts to manipulate rankings, reviews, or messaging systems.
  • Illegal services, evasion of law enforcement, or facilitation of criminal activity.
  • Posting personal data of others without a lawful basis, or collecting personal data from users for unrelated marketing without consent where required.

6. Dealers, workshops, rental operators & business accounts

Businesses using the Platform are responsible for their own licenses, insurance, warranties, workmanship, pricing, taxes, and compliance with local rules. Business profiles and subscription features must be used in accordance with plan limits and fair-use expectations. We may verify business information and may label accounts accordingly where supported.

7. Subscriptions & billing

Paid plans, trials, renewals, and refunds (if any) are described at checkout and/or in order screens. Unless stated otherwise, fees are billed in the currency shown, taxes may apply, and subscriptions may renew automatically until canceled where permitted. Failure to pay may result in suspension of paid features. We may change pricing with reasonable notice where required by law.

8. Payments, bookings, and service requests

The Platform may facilitate introductions, bookings, messages, or checkout flows depending on the feature set. Unless explicitly stated, BudapestCars does not guarantee that any booking, rental, repair, purchase, or sale will occur or complete. Users are responsible for confirming identities, vehicle condition, contract terms, insurance coverage, and handover details.

9. No guarantee of transaction completion

We do not guarantee that any listing is available, roadworthy, accurately described, or free from defects. Users transact at their own risk subject to applicable law and any separate contractual arrangements between the parties.

10. Moderation, suspension & termination

We may investigate suspected violations, remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, or terminate access where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect users, comply with law, or enforce these Terms. You may stop using the Platform at any time; certain provisions survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations, and dispute-related terms to the extent permitted).

11. Intellectual property

The Platform, branding, software, and content provided by BudapestCars are protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms and feature-specific licenses, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Platform for its intended purpose. You must not copy, reverse engineer, or exploit the Platform except as permitted by law. You retain rights in content you upload; you grant us a license to host, display, distribute, and improve the delivery of your content on the Platform.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available” to the maximum extent permitted by law. We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement except where such disclaimers are not legally permitted.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BudapestCars Kft. and its affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Our aggregate liability for claims arising out of the Platform is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid to us for the Platform in the three (3) months before the event giving rise to liability or (b) fifty euros (€50), except where such limitations are not permitted by law.

14. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are intended to be governed by the laws applicable in Hungary, without regard to conflict-of-law principles that would require applying another jurisdiction’s laws— except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise. Courts or competent authorities may have jurisdiction depending on the claim and applicable law. If you are a consumer, you may have rights to bring claims in your home jurisdiction where such rights cannot be waived.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will post the updated Terms and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance unless applicable law requires a different process.
